Remove XP Police Antivirus – Learn Hot To Conduct An XP Police Removal

Do you need to remove XP Police Antivirus?  Don't fall for the trap.  XP Police or XPPolice is not a real antivirus program.  It is actually a rogue malware program that posts false positive messages that your computer is infected.  While your system security has been compromised, the program is the one causing all the trouble.  If infected you want to conduct an XP Police Removal as soon as possible.

So how did your computer become infected with XP Police?  There could be a number of ways such as:

  • Your browser was hijacked and a virus force installed onto your system.  This is why it is important to have a firewall and real time virus protection running at all times.
  • You installed a program that came bundled with viruses, spyware, and adware.  Make sure you download from trustworthy sources and always scan a program before you install it.  Typically you can do this by right clicking on the program and selecting 'scan with xxx program'.
  • You use P2P or other networks to download multimedia and other files off the internet.  Be very careful when using P2P networks and again, always have your firewall and real time virus protection turned on!

How To Remove XP Police Antivirus

There are three main parts of every virus that require removal to get rid of deadly malware like XP Police.  First you need to eliminate any .exe files that are associated with the program.  Then get rid of any strange looking DLL files that were just recently added and have mysterious origin.  Next you need to get in the registry and remove the entries which are causing these fake pop up alerts and others that may have hijacked your desktop.

While it is possible to conduct a manual XP Police removal, unless you are a computer expert, it can prove to be very difficult.  Viruses are very stealthy these days and disguise themselves very well.  Figuring out how to track down every dangerous malware strain manually is tough.  Also if you begin removing the wrong registry entries you can cause greater damage to your system.

For those of you who are not computer experts I recommend downloading an XP Police removal tool.  With certain software you can remove XP Police in minutes.
