One of These 3 Fixes Will Repair the Windows Xp Blue Screen

From personal experience I can say that getting the blue screen error in Windows is probably the most frustrating thing that can happen. It always seems to pop up right when you're in the middle of important work, or when you haven't saved what you're working on.

In this article I'm going to quickly go over three things you can try to fix the blue screen error, and stop it from happening. After you've completed this article and tried each of these steps you should either stop the Windows blue screen error, or unfortunately be faced with reformatting and starting from scratch.

1: Check the Windows Registry

Without getting into to much background information the Windows registry is like the central nervous system of your PC. It holds all the important information needed for Windows and other applications to work correctly.

Registry related errors either for Windows or a particular application can cause the Blue screen error to occur.

So how can you fix them? Easy, download the free scan utility from Registry mechanic, this will allow you to scan you're entire registry to search for errors. After scanning you can review what was found, and if there appears to be some serious items that need fixing you can pay for the registered version which will then repair the errors found.

2: Run your Spyware, Adware and Virus Scans

If the registry repair step hasn't helped with the blue screen it's onto step 2, virus and adware scanning. Use your adware/spyware and virus scanners (if you don't have one grab the free versions of AVG and AdAware).

This will take a bit more time then running theĀ  registry repair, but it's a must that you let them run to determine if this is causing your Windows blue screen errors.

3: Un-install and Re-install

While this step is more drastic then the previous two it can sometimes be the only alternative to stop the windows blue screen error.

First you need to determine if it's one program or group of programs that is causing the error. Take note when the screen appears, and if it's continually the same program(s) you can try removing these via your Control panel, and then re-installing them.

Often it's only one file that is causing the issue, and by freshly installing the program you can repair the error.

NOTE: Prior to removing any program be sure you have a copy of the CD/DVD or download from when you installed the program.
