The classic symptoms that announce that your operating system has some problems are the following: slow bootups, the annoying BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death), often crashes and freezes, error messages and poor performance.
In order to stop all that from happening it's recommended that you check your Windows registry for invalid entries and errors. Here you can find every single setting for the operating system and also for the hardware and software. In other words, this is your PC's central nervous system.
Fixing these problems is not a technician's job. You can do it by yourself if you follow a few easy steps. But first of all it is very important that you make a backup of the registry and a Windows restore point. This is necessary just in case any problems will occur during the cleaning process.
Let's begin:
Step 1
Go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore and create a new restore point by adding a name and clicking the 'create' button.
Step 2
Go to Start ' Run, type: regedit and press Enter. This will lead you to the registry editor. It is very important that you don't change anything because any change will interfere with your PC. Remember: this is not the place to test your creativity!
Go to File ' Export and save the .reg file by choosing a name and a location for it. This will help you revert back the changes in case you're not satisfied with the results.
Step 3
